Things I Must Do Before Too Long

Yesterday we had a scare of the cockroach variety.  There was only one and because of the amazing job Lindsay does on cleaning up after my slightly messy self in the kitchen I have large doubts that they have taken up residence in our apartment (stupid un-clean neighbors).  However I got in a slight frenzy last night and pulled most of the things out of my closet to make sure none of them had decided my nice fiber covered floor was an appropriate home.  Now I have fiber all over my room of the fleece and already prepared yarn variety.  I also feel like at some point I’m going to need to pull my bed away from the wall so I can look under it, but I figure the cats would have found the tasty-tasty protein and killed it under there already.

This yarn has got me feeling like I’m way behind on things that have been promised to people, the list follows thusly:

  • Gloves for my dad (blue alpaca blend)
  • Thorpe for my dad (black recycled acrylic)
  • Socks for my aunt (blue SWS)
  • 2x Socks for my mom (ugly striped wool blend and pretty black wool)
  • Sweater for my mom (white acrylic)
  • Fair-isle beret for my mom (various wool colors)
  • Purse for Ava (?)
  • Sweater for Ava
  • Shrug for Ava (black recycled acrylic again)

Most of these were designed for birthdays or Christmas, but most of my close family has their birthday in the winter months (1 each in October, November and January) so they all basically boil down to Christmas presents with some rush on ones due earlier.  So basically I need to at least finish one of my mother’s gifts in about a week’s time and I can’t find the beret pattern(!!).
